OPI Peel Me A Gobi Grape
Don’t you just hate it when you fall head over heels with a polish, only to find out it’s old, discontinued and very hard to find? That’s just what happened to me with OPI Peel Me A Gobi Grape. It’s from the Painted Desert collection way back in 1998! After seeing some gorgeous swatches on the MakeupAlley nail board (a dangerous place!), I searched everywhere for this beauty, but of course it was nowhere to be found. Finally, I found it on a blog sale, and last week it appeared in my mailbox. My greedy little fingers are very happy!
Peel Me A Gobi Grape (what’s a gobi grape anyway?) is a dark and dusty plummy purple with golden/bronze shimmer. I’m a sucker for everything with gold shimmer, and purple is one of my favorite colors, so can you blame me for falling in love? It’s every bit as fabulous as I thought it would be!
The formula (black label) is very nice, but the old style OPI brush ruins everything! It’s long, round, wonky and floppy, and I have virtually no control of where the polish ends up. There were lots of swearing and flooding of cuticles! I’m glad OPI decided to change their brushes, the ProWide is now my favorite brush!
What do you think of OPI’s old brush vs the new one?
