It was one of those normal days when I was surfing around the web looking at nail blogs and other random nail related stuff. Eventually I stumbled on to a swatch of Claire’s Magic, and it was love at first sight! I knew I had to have it, and last week I got lucky and managed to acquire it in a swap.
(Have I told you how much I love swapping? It’s the best thing since sliced bread, I just love having packages of goodies in my mail box almost every day! And everyone’s happy!)
Magic was every bit as beautiful as I’d imagined, a gorgeous purple base with pink shimmer. It looks mostly purple in low light, but when the light hits it, the pink shimmer pops out glowing from the purple base. I’ve been running around putting my hands under every lamp I’ve seen since I put this on.
It’s so pretty, I can’t stand it! It actually reminds me of Nfu-Oh 51, just without the flakies. And it’s no small task standing up to what I think is The Prettiest Nail Polish In The World! This one might actually sail up and share the title for me.
Magic isn’t too tricky to apply, it is a little bit runny, but nothing I can’t live with. (But I could forgive a lot for this beauty!) It’s opaque in no more than two coats.
That’s about all the pretty I can take for one day. I want to know, what’s your favorite polish ever?
Thank you for reading, hope you’re having a wonderful day.
I’m continuing with the dark polishes, this time it’s a very dark blue shimmer from Claire’s. Now, this bottle doesn’t have a name, either it’s nameless or the label has fallen off. So I’m making up a name for it, and I thought Claire’s Midnight Special was quite fitting.
I really love how this looks, it’s so dark and almost black, but when the light hits it, the beautiful shimmer shows up. I’m a sucker for blue shimmers, so this one is a keeper for sure. I’d love to konad something gold over it, but I don’t have any gold konad polish yet.
Here it is compared to Misa A Sin Worth Committing, my ultimate blue shimmer.
Unfortunately, the formula is not so perfect. It’s thick and runny at the same time, and I had a hard time polishing with this one. Flooding of cuticles ahoy, and you can see that my cleanup is rather messy. It’s opaque in one thick or two thin (if you can get it to do thin!) coats.
Thank you for looking! Have a nice day.
Today I present Claire’s 139, which is a light, pastel lilac creme. It’s very cute and fitting for spring, and also work-appropriate. It’s a polish that makes me happy when I look at it. Not at all unique, but a great and cheap alternative if you can’t get the more expensive pastels. The sunlight pic is the most color accurate.
Cute or what?!
The formula is quite nice, as most pastels it’s rather patchy at first, but it’s nice and smooth and opaque by the third coat.
Hope you like it!
