This weekend I picked up GOSH Groovy Grey while in town, and Sunniva said she wanted to see it on the nails. Of course I comply!
Groovy Grey is not completely grey, but instead it’s something in between grey and beige. Some people call this color greige, and it’s a sort of putty-like grey. I like it very much, it’s a nice and neutral creme. This color is part of a special edition of some sorts, but unfortunately I don’t know anything about it.
The formula is quite good, it’s opaque in 1 coat! I did 2 though, because I feel a little bit naked with just one coat. The brush gave me some trouble, it had a wonky hair and it was hard to control.
I just have one other light gray polish in my stash, so this is a quick and easy comparison. Here you can see how beige GG really is.
This reminds me a lot of OPI Skull and Glossbones from the Pirates of the Caribbean collection. Does anyone have both to compare?
When you have the most obnoxious yellow polish on, what do you do? Konad it, of course! I wanted to do black zebra stripes, but when I opened my drawer and saw Gosh Deep Purple there, I knew what I had to do. Dark purple zebra stripes over neon yellow? I love it!
This is Illamasqua Rare stamped with Gosh Deep Purple and Konad image plate m57. And by the way, these pictures show the true color of Illamasqua Rare. That’s what I get for not waiting for daylight to photograph my mani.
Deliciously 80′s, I dig it!
Thanks for looking, have a nice day!
As I told you earlier, I’ve been wearing a lot of my old polishes lately. It’s so nice to rediscover forgotten treasures, it’s almost like seeing old friends after a long time away. Another fun thing to do is playing around and finding new layering combinations, and I’d like to show you two of my oldies but goodies that make a really cute couple.
This is GOSH Wild Lilac, a medium purple creme. She’s accompanied by CND Gold Sparkle, an CND Effects polish with tiny little gold flakes. I love this combo, it looks like falling snow.
Pure awesomeness! I’m dying to get my hands on CND Sugar Sparkle, but it seems to be quite the elusive little vixen.
Do you take the time to go through your stash and experiment with different layering combinations? Have you found any favorites?
Thanks for looking! Have a nice day!
I hope you’ve all had a great time during the holidays, and that your new year’s was fun, sparkly and safe. I’ve had a really nice Christmas, celebrating with my family and friends. I wore China Glaze Ruby Pumps for Christmas Eve, I just had to have my staple red glitter for this evening.
I was really overwhelmed with all of the gorgeous and creative New Year’s Eve manis I saw on the Makeup Alley nail care board. I wish I had time for something as impressive as mirror nails, rhinestones and glitter gradients, but because I was working the night before, that was out of the question. I ended up slapping on 3 coats of OPI Mad As A Hatter, a really glittery and fun mani after all!
I still haven’t removed the glitter, so today I spruced it up a little with a funky french in two of the main glitter colors, green and purple.
I used Misa Dirty Sexy Money for the green and GOSH Deep Purple for the purple. I used french tip guides from Kiss to create the funky french, but you could just as easily use Scotch tape. (Check out Chloe’s Nails for the most impressive “Scotch tape manis”!)
What was your NYE mani? Do you have any nail related new year’s resolutions?
Thanks for stopping by, have a nice day!
I finally caved in and bought Gosh Gasoline at Vita the other day. I’ve been passing on this polish for a long time, but now it just spoke to me. Gosh is a dark magenta jelly with blue, pink and purple glitter, totally awesome if you ask me! It’s almost like a purple version of OPI Ink.
It’s pouring down outside today, so here are some indoors pics for you.
The formula is really really good, it’s almost like it knows where to go by itself. And that’s good, because you’ll be stuck for a while painting your nails with this. It’s so sheer that you need four coats to get decent coverage, but it’s worth it to build that gorgeous glitter.
Thanks for stopping by again! Hope you’ll have a wonderful day. :D
