I know Christmas is right around the corner and it’s time for wintery colors and finishes, but this is the darkest time of the year up here, and I had a craving for something really bright, loud and summery. I was inspired by this tutorial, so I picked out my most obnoxious colors and went to it!
I’ve used Color Club Pucci-Licious, IsaDora Miami Blue, China Glaze Flip Flop Fantasy, Illamasqua Rare and OPI Who The Shrek Are You? for the “rainbow” background, and Konad image plate m57 with GOSH Nero for the stamp.
I hope this colorful mani brightened your day, and remember, there’s only one more week until winter solstice!
A long, long time ago, I saw this post over at Nihrida’s blog. It’s a “fish scale” manicure, and I totally fell in love with it. At the time, I didn’t have any Konad supplies, so I just stored it in my back of my mind to try later. Well, now I finally got around to it, and of course I wanted to try a pink and purple version. Nihrida made an awesome tutorial as well, so check it out!
I started with a base of China Glaze Something Sweet, then I sponged first with China Glaze Endurance and then Milani Totally Cool. I used Konad image plate m57 and Something Sweet for the stamp. This didn’t turn out exactly how I wanted, the base color is a little bit too light to stamp over the sponging, so the fish scale effect isn’t that pronounced. It’s still kinda cute, though.
Which colors would you choose for a mani like this? I’m thinking of a blue version next…
When you have the most obnoxious yellow polish on, what do you do? Konad it, of course! I wanted to do black zebra stripes, but when I opened my drawer and saw Gosh Deep Purple there, I knew what I had to do. Dark purple zebra stripes over neon yellow? I love it!
This is Illamasqua Rare stamped with Gosh Deep Purple and Konad image plate m57. And by the way, these pictures show the true color of Illamasqua Rare. That’s what I get for not waiting for daylight to photograph my mani.
Deliciously 80’s, I dig it!
Thanks for looking, have a nice day!
I liked my previous manicure so much, so I set out to make as many subtle stamp manicures as I can! I’m just hooked on these right now, so my stamp and scraper have been busy the last 48 hours. Here are my latest Konad manicures.
Here I’ve used nailstation fake blonde, with a couple of drops of red added to the bottle, stamped with China Glaze Admire. The image plate is m65.
In this next one, I’ve used OPI What’s With The Cattitude and stamped with my franken Fuel. Image plate m64.
The last one is China Glaze Light As Air stamped with China Glaze Harmony and image plate m73.
I have to say, I like the blue combo best!
What’s your favorite polish/stamp combo ever?
Thanks for looking!
2011 is here, and winter solstice has finally occured, that means that spring is not far away! Or at least one can pretend… There’s not much that reminds me of spring and summer today, in fact, the snow is deeper than ever. I can’t wait for spring, it’s my favorite time of year! I’m sick of the cold and dark, no sunlight and barely any daylight at all.
So I thought I could at least have something bright and fun on my nails, and H&M Blue My Mind is just the right medicine! It is a bright, almost neon, cornflower blue creme. This just makes me so happy, it’s simple, but oh so beautiful. A perfect slice of bright summer sky on this dark winter day.
This is very easy to apply, I won’t call the formula thick, just…firm, if that makes sense. It doesn’t run anywhere and goes exactly where I want it to go. Opaque in two coats. It is kinda matteish on its own, so if you want a high gloss, wear a topcoat.
I also decorated it with a Konad stamp from image plate m65, stamped with China Glaze Millennium.
Are you sick of winter yet? What do you do to cheer yourself up while waiting for the sun?
Have a nice day, everyone!
